***SOLD*** Superb example of Winchester's unique and exceedingly scarce "lightweight" Model 70 target rifle. This was the 3rd rarest syle of all Model 70 production, with less than 2,000 ever made! S/N 145*** with matching bolt made in 1950.
Excellent condition throughout showing 98% original Blue, and 99% or better original Varnish. This rifle has the correct one of a kind standard weight barrel with a low profile integral front sight ramp and no milled sight hood groove. There is also the impossible to find 1/2" tall scope block mounted onto the barrel in its factory holes. The current and also factory optional sight set up is a Lyman 77 globe type up front, and Lyman 48 WH receiver sight in the rear. Correct Lyman 12S filler in barrel dovetail slot. Bore and mechanical functions are flawless. If you are looking for a great representative of each of the various M70 styles, this is about as good as you will find to fill that particular NM slot!
