Navy Luger Commemorative, 75th year, made by Mauser as a leather cased ensemble in the late 1970s, to include pistol, spare magazine, brass cleaning rod, takedown tool, lots of literature, Luger book by John Walter, and locking keys. Supplemental accessories include reproduction Navy shoulder stock and black plastic display stand. This example, imported by Interarms has the standard 6” barrel, marked with caliber, a drift adjustable front sight and the two position navy rear sight marked 100-200. Middle toggle link with gold filled “DWM” monogram. Left side of frame with commemorative inscription “75 Jahre/Parabellum-Pistole/Kaiserliche Marine”. Right side of barrel extention and frame marked with serial number. Mauser address on frontstrap. “MADE IN GERMANY” on rear of frame above lanyard loop. Major components salt blued. Most small parts strawed. Grip screws fire blued. Folded magazines with blued bodies and black plastic plugs secured with two pins. Spare magazine, take down tool with Mauser marking. Literature includes guarantee card, undated but matching test target and instruction booklet. Full size certificate of authenticity included but not pictured. Top compartment contains the “Luger” book by John Walter. Additional accessories include a reproduction Odin Navy board stock, unnumbered with inserted disk and a black plastic display stand marked for this pistol.
Condition: Virtually new. The only marks on the luger is on the back frame, where impacted by the toggle during test firing and a few tiny scratches on the stock lug that would happen during the trial fitting of the shoulder stock. No thinning, straw discoloration. Comparable condition grips and magazines, neither one showing insertional wear. Excellent paperwork and book. Comparable condition case with just a few superficial scuffs. Reproduction stock is as new in plastic wrap and shipping box. Same applies to the display stand. A terrific, virtually new ensemble, one of the most desirable of the Luger commemoratives with supplemental accessories.
