Description:
Serial #29604, 12 Ga. (2 3/4"), 30" barrels with excellent, bright bores. The barrels of this 1897-made gun have retained nearly all of their beautiful “chain-link" Damascus pattern with some traces of pale fading at the muzzles and the breech. The game scene vignette-engraved frame has muted original color case-hardening, still quite vivid on the protected areas around the standing breech, as well as mottled gray along the balance. The walnut pistol grip buttstock and forend have scattered small handling marks and minor blemishes marring the original varnish. The stock has a 13 3/4" length of pull to the original hard rubber Ithaca buttplate, and drops of 1 1/4" and 2 1/2" respectively. The lock-up is good, both ejectors are fully functional, the automatic safety is as well, and the lever rests just left of center. This is a superb Crass Model Ithaca, and rates fine plus overall. It is a truly handsome gun, and would make a great addition to any collection os fine American doubles. Antique
