Description:
" Spanish Orbea pattern model 1915 revolver. In the beginning of World War 1 England had a shortage of of side arms. The British military made contracts with any country that could supply them. Spain offered to supply30,000 pistols in .455 caliber. There were three companies under the parent company of Orbea Hermanos y cia of Eibar Spain and all of them were copies of the Smith & Wesson Frontier double action (except for them being in.455 cal.) The revolvers carry the British Crown over V proofs on the barrel lug and the frame and every flute of the cylinder. This revolver is in overall very good plus condition. The bore is excellent. The action works perfectly on both double action and single action and indexes and locks up tight on both. The hard rubber grips bear the OH intertwined logo. The frame and cylinder have a fine smooth light military gray finish. The barrel length is 5 inches. The Orbea Hermanos revolvers were well made and were quite sturdy as is this example.
