"German Navy Luger model 1914 9mm caliber, dated 1917. This is a very fine 1st World War Luger . The front sight and left side of the frame are dated 1917.The serial numbers are matching. This is the last year of production for the Navy Luger. Pistol has approximately 98% blue. The bore is excellent. The action works perfectly. The straw colors show approximately 80 to 90 % vivid color. The magazine is correct and is un-numbered. These last navy lugers may have no crown M proofs and no alphabetic letter after the serial number. As personnel at the factory and German officers took some of the remaining pistols. This may have been with or without permission. The same “taking" of pistols was done in the USA. And are referred to as “lunch box guns’ taken home by workers at the factories. The rear Navy Luger sight is adjustable and is graduated to100and200 . The grips are very good, no chips no cracks only light handling wear. This is a very fine late war production Navy Luger.
