Description:
Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Carbine, chambered for .50-70 Govt. This Springfield is able to be classified as an antique due to a manufacture date of sometime between April and June of 1882. Owner took measures to prevent stock degradation by varnishing the stock, which shows a nice shine, but all cartouches have been unfortunately removed. Remaining marks are on the barrel with the eagle head and V/P. Metal butt plate has compartment for cleaning supplies. Barrel has a fair amount of bluing loss except at end of barrel. Hammer has rough checkering on it. .50-70 Government
