Description:
Springfield Armory M1903, caliber .30-06. Serial number 987907 dates to 1918. This rifle has a WW2 issued High Standard barrel dated July 1944.
This 1903 is in excellent used condition. Parkerized metal parts show no signs of pitting. The bolt finish shows wear. The serial number is etched into the bolt, though faint and difficult to see in photos. The walnut finger groove stock is excellent with just a few dings and scratches, no cracks. There are no arsenal markings or proofs on the stock, it could be a commercial replacement, we aren't sure. The forearm is a nice match to the stock.
Most metal parts are unmarked with the exception of the bolt, marked "N.S." on the top of the handle. The barrel is marked "H S 7 44", with a flaming bomb proof. Bore is bright and shiny. The barrel gauge measurements are 1.5 at the muzzle and 1.5 at the throat.
The gun has been test fired and functions perfectly.
