Presented for your purchase is a superb example of the Colt Model of 1877 Double Action revolver, known by many as the Colt Lightning in .38 Long Colt caliber.  The gun is documented by two different Colt Archive letters noting the shipment in 1881, nickel finish, 3 ½” barrel, rubber grips, shipped to Kinney & Co. in Worcester Massachusetts.  This is one of the highest condition, factory original, untouched Colt Lightning “STOREKEEPERS” model we have witnessed, and by far the best one of its kind being offered for sale anywhere on the internet today.  This Colt Model 1877, sn29261, RETAINS 80% NICKEL ON THE BARREL WITH A CLEAR, SHARP ETCHED PANEL, 95% NICKEL ON THE FRAME, CYLINDER, GRIP, A BRIGHT BORE WITH STRONG CONTINUOUS RIFLING AND SOME LIGHT PITTING PRESENT, EXCELLENT ORIGINAL SCREWS WITH MOST OF THE NITER BLUE INTACT, AND SUPERB HARD RUBBER GRIPS WITH CLEAR, SHARP CHECKERING AND DISTINCT RAMPANT COLT MARKINGS.  A Colt Lightning in this condition, with the most desirable short barrel, and strong etched panel caliber markings is a premium find and a grand investment quality ANTIQUE COLT.  Ammunition is readily available for those who love to shoot their vintage firearms.  The Colt Model of 1877 was made famous by the bad guys of the West, like John Wesley Hardin and Billy the Kid, as well as famous friends of lawmen like Doc Holiday.  THE COLT LIGHTNING IS A VERY COOL PART OF THE WILD WEST AND ALL THE IMAGES WE RECALL FROM OUR YOUTH WATCHING MOVIES AND SHOWS ABOUT THE WEST.  The two Colt letter shown in the photos are part of the package.  We have priced this high-condition Colt affordably, so don’t hesitate to give us a call and make it yours.  Thanks for looking!
