An Early & Scarce U.S. Civil War 2nd Model Burnside Carbine In Fine Untouched Condition. Serial #1214, All matching numbers. All original throughout. Only 2,000 made from 1860-1862. The carbine has fine Burnside Markings on the lock, lever, and top of breech. All of the metal on the gun has a wonderful untouched & natural brown color throughout it. The wood is fine & untouched. The rear stock bottom swivel was lost or broken off during its period of use in the war. This tends to happen on these 2nd models. The swivel base is still there. The gun has a nice action and bore. These Early Burnside Carbines were used hard in the Civil War. This Is A Fine looking And Untouched Example Of One!!
