All original and complete. Only 7,200 were made from 1824-1829. Most of these were converted to percussion and then many were reconverted back to flint. This one is its original flintlock configuration. The rifle has fine metal and markings throughout. It is marked "U.S./S. NORTH" in front of the hammer and "MIDLTN/CONN/1825" behind it. The barrel is marked, "US/P/JN, and is also dated "1825" on the tang. All of the metal on the rifle has a light patina on it. The wood on it is fine throughout with nice edges as shown in the photos. The gun has a fine bore and crisp action. It has its original brass tipped ramrod. This Is a Very Untouched & Fine Looking Example Of A U.S. North Model 1817 Flintlock Common Rifle. These All Original Flintlock Common Rifles Are Very Hard To Come By Especially In This Condition!
