Early & Very Scarce U.S. Military Used Ainsworth Inspected Colt Single Action Army Revolver With Deluxe Grips
An Early & Very Scarce U.S. Military Used Ainsworth Inspected Colt Single Action Army Revolver With Deluxe Grips In Excellent Untouched Condition. Serial #12,538, all matching numbers. Made in 1874, all original and complete. Mostl likely carried by an officer in the Indian Wars. The revolver has very fine metal and markings throughout. It is marked "U.S." on the frame and is fully "U.S. Sub Inspected by Ainsworth" on all parts. It has the early address on the top of the barrel. All of the metal on the gun retains most of its original factory nickel which shows small spots of natural wear. All edges are sharp and crisp. All screws are fine and show their original factory color. The deluxe grips are excellent throughout and fit nicely all around with some slight shrinkage in a couple of spots. They have a wonderful grain to them. The gun has a fine action and bore. These U.S. Ainsworth Inspected Colt Single Action Army Revolvers with original factory nickel on them and deluxe grips were often given to officers or scouts as they were leftover when the regular military contract was filled. This Is a Wonderful And Untouched Example Of A U.S. Military Used Ainsworth Inspected Colt Single Action Army Revolver With Deluxe Grips That Was Most Likrly Carried An Officer During Its Use In The Indian Wars!
