Winchester Model 1897 16 ga 28” Full
As I am sneaking up on retirement, I am now refocusing my hobbies to hunting, fishing, spoiling my granddaughter and soon RV camping. So that means it’s time to thin the herd so to speak. Stay tuned as more firearms will be posted here and locally.
Today I am offering my Winchester Model 1897 in 16 gauge with 28” Full choke barrel, serial number E601384. Barrel and receiver bear the same and correct serial number. There is some light pitting in the barrel but nothing that would render the gun unserviceable or effect its pattern. The gun is unaltered except for surface wear. The wood set is original to the gun and has numerous handling marks but no cracks, splits or chips missing. Original hard rubber Winchester butt plate is intact as well with some wear evident. 50-60% original bluing remains on the receiver flats. The barrel retains about the same turning to a patina. Action functions as designed and is not sloppy or worn out.
