Here we have an honest and true Colt 1877 Lightning chambered in .38 Long Colt made in 1905 in Hartford, CT. This Model 1877 has been well-used over the many years it has been around but relatively well cared-for as the mechanics seem to be in perfect working order. The M1877 was the first successful US-made double-action cartridge revolver. As you can see from the pictures, it is a gray patina gun, almost every bit of the original factory finish has been worn or aged off of this beautiful and collectable revolver. The cylinder is a little loose but it has all of the original hardware intact and funtions like it should. The 4 1/2 inch barrel has a good bore with plenty of rifling left in this fine piece and it has trough rear and blade front sights. The ejector works smoothly on this fine collectable piece and the side loading gate closes nice and tight. It is certainly a gun that you can look at and handle and just imagine the history this fine Colt has witnessed.
