Description: By far the most unique and unusual Parker I’ve handled lately- this early Grade 3 Fishtail top lever 12ga hammer gun takes the cake! The gun is a #2 framed 12ga made with 28” Damascus barrels. Splinter forend, double triggers, extractors, and now with top tang safety. Stocked in its original capped pistol grip butt with original skeleton buttplate. The gun was originally a Grade 3 external hammer gun and was converted at some point in its life to a hammerless gun. I believe strongly that this work was done by Daniel Lefever, but have no solid documentation to back this up other than the cocking rods at the front of the frame in some ways resemble Lefever designs and the overall quality of the work is excellent. This is truly a unique gun and an absolutely fascinating study! Overall, the gun remains in very nice original condition. Barrels retain more than 95% of their beautiful damascus pattern, most likely renewed by Bachelder. The action retains about 25% original case color, engraving is very nice and mostly quite crisp. Stocks are sound with conversion repairs at the top stock fingers- these needed to be changed during the conversion and are not as a result of any mishandling or misuse. The bores do show some orange peel. Mechanics are fine and the gun is overall quite nice. Here are the technicals on the gun: Parker Bros. Grade: 3 Gauge: 12ga Barrels- 28” Damascus barrels Chambers- 2-3/4” Weight: 7lbs 9oz LOP: 13-7/8” over original skeleton BP DAC: 1-3/4’ DAH: 2-5/8” Chokes: .020(R) Modified ; .030(L) (Improved Modified) MWT: Over .020 in both barrels This gun came to me from one of the best Parker Gun collections ever assembled and it is truly a unique one!
