These were manufactured by the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal in Koishikawa, circa 1903, and is arsenal marked on top of receiver. This was a private purchase weapon that was intended as a status symbol for high ranking Japanese Army and Naval officers, although never officially adopted. Approximately only 5,900 examples of the finely finished compact "Baby Nambu" pistols were manufactured by the Tokyo Arsenal before production ceased in 1927. These are the rarest and most desirable Japanese semi-automatic pistol available to collectors! All matching including correct nickel plated magazine and both grips! Features also include a 3 1/4" barrel with mint shiny bore, 8 round magazine capacity, fixed sights, beautiful checkered factory wood grips, strawed small parts, and its nearly impossible to find, near perfect, factory blued finish!!!
