Description:
A beautiful example of a Holland & Holland Best Quality Royal Model side-by-side Shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge. Produced in 1952, the shotgun features a case-hardened finish with beautiful floral scroll engraving on the lock plates, receiver, and trigger guard. The deep blued 28" barrels gauged .729 with chokes gauging .024 / .035 and a single bead front sight. The barrels have 2-3/4" chambers and are proofed for 1-1/4 ounce shot. The buttstock has crisp checkering with a checkered butt giving it a length of pull of 15". The stock has a cast off of 3/4" with a Drop at Heel of 2-1/8" and Drop at Comb of 1-1/2". The gun has hand detachable locks, and an articulated front trigger. The shotgun comes with the original maker's leather covered hardcase with the initials "JTVN" embossed on the lid that matches the escutcheon on the stock. Included in the felt lined case are a cleaning kit, two-piece hardwood cleaning rod, two nickel-plated snap caps, a nickel-plated oiler, and can of "Rangoon Oil" along with a jar of "Rangoon Jelly". The metal is in overall excellent condition with very minor handling marks. The wood is in very good condition overall with light dings and handling marks. The case is in good condition with a broken strap and moderate wear. An excellent example of a bespoke shotgun from a renowned manufacturer. 12 Gauge
