Description:
Very fine example of a Holland & Holland Royal left-handed 12-gauge side by side shotgun produced in 1907. The shotgun features a blued finish with beautiful floral scroll engraving on the lock plates, receiver, and trigger guard. The 30" barrels are choked .003/.011 with a single brass bead sight. The length of pull is 14-3/4" with a drop at comb at 1-1/2" and the drop at heel at 2-1/8". There is a Cast On of 1/8". The shotgun comes with the original leather covered hardcase with the initials "MLH" embossed on the lid. Included in the green felt lined case are a two-piece hardwood cleaning rod, two nickel-plated snap caps, and a nickel-plated oiler. The shotgun has seen some use in its 110+ year life but is in very good condition overall. The wood is in very good condition with a few small pieced-in repairs, with one on the front left of the forearm and one on the bottom left of the wrist), a tight hairline crack on the lower right side of the wrist and minor handling marks. The steel is also in very good condition with much of the original bluing in place, though it does show some older bluing touchups in places and minor handling marks. The case is in very good condition with moderate wear and handling marks. Overall, an excellent example of a period piece from a highly sought-after manufacturer.
