Here we have a Colt New Service revolver chambered in .44/40 caliber. The Colt New Service is a large frame, large caliber, double-action revolver made by Colt from 1898 until 1941 with this example having been made in 1933. This revolver is in very good condition with an area of surface wear on the barrel in the muzzle area where some of the finish has worn. There is some finish wear on the frame and trigger guard. The gun retains almost all of it's original bluing having only minor high edge wear and is fitted with the original factory hard rubber grips. The shiney bore condition is outstanding for a gun made in 1933 and the rifling is still very sharp. This Colt has a 5 1/2" barrel with a blade front sight and trough sight at the rear. The photos show the right side of the hammer where it has been hit at some point and a small area has chipped off. This gun would make a fine addition to an existing Colt or a great way to start one.
