Here we have an honest and true Colt 1877 Lightning chambered in .38 Long Colt made in 1886 in Hartford, CT. This Model 1877 has been well-used over the many years it has been around but relatively well cared-for as the mechanics seem to be in perfect working order. The M1877 was the first successful US-made double-action cartridge revolver. This revolver has retained much of it's original finish there are a few areas where the finish is worn but it is in very good overall condition. Sights are a blade front and trough rear. The 4 1/2 inch barrel has a bright bore with plenty of rifling left. The ejector works smoothly on this fine collectable piece and the side loading gate closes nice and tight. It is certainly a gun that you can look at and handle and just imagine the history this fine Colt has witnessed.
