Blue Finished, Nazi Occupied Czechoslovakia
Here we present a Nazi German CZ 27 Pistol, made circa 1942 in Czechoslovakia. The Model 27 was adopted by the Third Reich upon their seizure of ?eská zbrojovka after their invasion and occupation in 1939. Many of these semi-automatic, .32 ACP blowback pistols were manufactured until the end of the war, becoming somewhat less finished toward the end in an attempt to save on cost, time and resources. The machining marks grew more visible and the blue applied to the earlier guns was changed to a phosphate finish. Many of these were put in the hands of officers and police during World War II.
This specimen is blued and marked “Pistole Modell 27/Kal.7,65” on the left side of the slide. The top of the slide is marked “BÖHMISHE WAFFENFABRIK A.G. IN PRAG”. The checkered Bakelite grips have the CZ logo. The bottom of the magazine is marked “P.Mod 27”. The right side of the frame is marked “Eagle/WaA76”, and the receiver is marked with “Eagle/Swastika”.
The overall condition is very good. Original finish. Excellent action. The bore is bright. Grip is solid with a chip out of the right side. Numbers match. Clear markings (most have been filled with white paint to help them stand out).
