We offer you a “Custom” Winchester Manufactured U.S. Model 1917 Enfield Bolt Action Rifle in 7mm STW.
This Custom rifle started life as a Winchester manufacture U.S. model 1917 Enfield as you can see by the marking. It was made into this custom rifle for a 1997 African trip that never came about. A great deal of time and skilled work went into making it the rifle as you can see. All of the metal was rust blued and is in excellent condition. It wears a 26 inch medium heavy tapered barrel with a 1 in 10 twist chambered in 7mm STW caliber. The bore is excellent on the rifle since it was never taken on a hunt. The receiver and parts are marked with a “W” and the left side of the barrel is marked “7STW”. The trigger was worked on and is a single stage and very nice with the bolt now being a cock on opening. The Walnut stock has very nice figure with very nice checkering panels as shown. There are a few marks and scuffs from storage with some fine surface age cracks on the cheek piece as pictured. The rest of the stock is in excellent condition and has inlayed sling swivels. The length of pull is 13 1/4 inches over the leather Decelerator Pachmayr recoil pad that is in excellent condition. On top is a Leupold VARI-X IIc 3-9X 40mm scope that has excellent optics and is still covered by their lifetime warranty. This rifle cost over 2K to build back in 1997. Total weight as pictured is right at 11 pounds.
Many of our estate firearms have been stored for some time and a thorough cleaning and inspection are recommended.
This will be shipped fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL for $60. It will be shipped in a double walled foam lined cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe.
