Description:
S O L D ........69 cal., 42” barrel with a moderately oxidized bore. The barrel and bands are a silvery pewter gunmetal patina with overall light oxidation staining and light pitting, the rear with appropriate VP and Eagle head firing proofs, the tang dated 1835. The arm appears to be in the original flint in every respect and the lockplate is a dull pewtery case-hardened patina with light pitting but deep markings with a crisp Eagle and Harpers Ferry 1835 at the rear of the lockplate. Both the buttplate and the triggerguard show a bit more pitting, the tang of the plate “US” marked. The American walnut stock rates very good with overall dings and handling marks, retaining what is likely original varnish, with good edges on the stock flats, a crack at the front and rear of the right, a small crack at the breech of the left flat. There are “AR/V” inspectors markings on the left stock flat and a couple minor incise-carved initials here and there with “RB” to the rear of the triggerguard tang. The swivels are present, a trumpet head ramrod is present and the lock seems to function well mechanically. A nice example which remains unconverted.  S/H $55 **2nd firearm ships FREE with this one!.... .Thanks, Greg #59-60
