S O L D . . . . . . . . ."HARPERS FERRY"...NOT SPRINGFIELD.......Cal. 69. NSN. Bbl. 42" round with smooth bore having 1849 date on top tang. Harpers Ferry 1850 dated lock with American eagle and "U.S." forward of hammer. Metal is finished in the white. 3 Band walnut stock with trumpet tipped ramrod. Toeline of stock has indiscernible 2 letter inspection mark. Ca. 1844-1855, of approx 275,000, about 103,000 were mfg. at Harper Ferry Arsenal. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked triangular blade bayonet ........NOT THE ONE IN PHOTO........ CONDITION: very fine. Bright finished metal shows a light tarnish with spots of pinprick oxidation having a heavier spot of corrosion between 2nd and 3rd barrel band. Stock has very good finish showing scattered marks and dents with small chips right of buttplate and left of top tang.
