Description:
Boss & Co. Best 12 ga. side lock ejector SxS game gun completed in 1904. Remains in excellent condition reflecting the highest quality workmanship and finish of the storied maker Boss & Co. This outstanding Boss was made with a beautiful highly figured stock and is presented in an oak and leather case with Boss accessories including oil bottle, snap caps, turn screws, extra firing pins, cleaning rod & fittings. The Boss is numbered four of a quartet of Boss game guns made for the original owner. Originally made with 30" damascus barrels and later all four guns of the quartet were re-barreled by Boss with 29" steel barrels.
The steel barrels are chambered 2-1/2". The right barrel is choked cylinder and the left is choked at .010. The barrel wall thickness is .030 or better in both barrels. The bore diameter is .730 in the right barrel & .732 in the left barrel. The stock LOP is 14-1/2" to the original bone butt plate, with a Drop of 1-1/2" - 2 -!/2" and a Cast Off of 1/4" The weight of the gun is 6 lbs.10 oz. SOLD
