Description:
German M88 Commission Mauser 7.92x57mm
30" barrel, overall 49", tangent sights, top of chamber is dented. This rifle appears to be a true veteran with three old notches placed in lower part of trigger guard forward of the trigger.
On receiver can see "S(Spitzer mark) STEYR" 1890, left side receiver marked "SN# 541 U" and"Gew88" , left side barrel marked "9133D", bolt marked "5290e", right side butt stock marked with crown over a 3 - other marks on underside of stock, front band marked "GRI 243", rear band marked 09. Barrel and metal parts have some rust that appears to be cleanable. Bore is shiny with some corrosion in the lands. Stock has service and handling dings and scratches. No cleaning rod.
