Not only is it rare to find a pair of guns that are consecutively numbered but a pair of Garands from Pre WW2 is indeed a rare find. These two receivers are both from Feb. 1941 and in the same condition. Both have crisp addresses and receiver leg markings. One is marked with heat treat stamps "C 1 5 B" above drawing number "D 28291-3 SA" and the other has "J 6 D" above same "D 28291-3 SA". All edges are crisp with NO filing marks and crisp barrel threads which is key. Sight knob knurlings are crisp as well. Some grease paint consecutive numbers are painted over top of the addresses which I suspect are CMP inventory markings of some kind as I don’t see otherwise how these two could have found each other. These will lift or disappear if one so chooses to make a set of guns out of them. I left them on there for authenticity's sake. There is only some light pitting to underside where wood would have met metal but typical of such old Garands and does affect durability or structure. NO re-weld marks so NOT former dewat receivers. Ready to have consecutive rifles built around them. Doubt you'll find another early pair like this. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Rifle Caliber: .30-06 Springfield |
