Here we have a 6 shot double action Smith & Wesson 1st Model Hand Ejector revolver chambered in .32 SW Long. This 1st model was made between 1896 and 1903 in Springfield Mass. and a total of 19,712 guns were made during that production run. The .32 Hand Ejector was the first Smith & Wesson to have a swing-out cylinder and had some other novel features like the cylinder stop in the top strap where the rear sight was positioned at about the halfway point. The 6" barrel is bright and has strong rifling. The finish has worn to a wonderful warm patina over the years and this gun is in excellent physical and mechanical condition. The hard rubber grips have the Smith & Wesson logo and the right panel has a chip at the bottom. The trigger works perfectly in single or double action and it locks up very tight. The cylinder release has a chromed cylinder pin tip and operates like the day this gun left the factory. If this revolver could talk it would tell some interesting stories of adventure and exploits. This gun would make a great addition to an existing collection or beginning of a new one.
