Description:
SOLD  This is a Colt Walker replacement Second Contract Dragoon previously known as the "Fluck" Dragoon.  Cylinder has a roll engraved scene of Texas Ranger and Indian fight.  It also has the pressure ridge which is a characteristic of a rolled scene on Walker cylinders.  Serial number on the cylinder is easy to see and does match.  You can also partially see COLT'S PATENT AND MODEL U.S.M.R. which stands for U.S. Mounted Rifles.  Be sure to take note of the amount of cylinder scene still visible.  It is much better than many of these you will see.  Colt's Patent is on the middle of the frame on the left side.  The serial numbers use the very small font found on the Walkers.  Notice the early type main spring used on the Walkers and early Dragoons.  Serial number is 2303 which falls in the Fluck Dragoon range.  Bore in the 7 1/2" barrel has very strong lands and grooves along with some pitting.  It will rate a seven on a one to ten scale which is very strong for one of these early revolvers.  Action is tight and smooth.  The arbor is not numbered.  Wedge is numbered and it does match.  Grips fit nicely and appear to have been sanded.  The barrel is numbered 190 which leads me to believe it is a reworked Walker barrel.  Very interesting piece.   I have taken a lot of pictures which clearly and fairly shows the overall condition of this early Dragoon.  It will make a great addition to your Colt collection.  I have many more pictures available.  Let me know if you would like more information.  American Arms & Antiques item #2873
