The Model 411E was discontinued in about 1964. Beretta discontinued 16ga guns in the late 1970s. So, how is it we have a 411E with barrels proofed in 1982 in a 1990s box with a factory bar code label? The best explanation I can come up with is - a parts cleanup. I've owned another of these guns with a serial number in the same range. That gun's barrels were proofed in 1978. I had an email from Beretta verifying that gun was shipped in 1993. My theory is that someone was cleaning out a storage room in Italy and found a big box of parts from the 1960s. Someone decided to make these into guns rather than melt them down. Some of you fellow Beretta nuts will also remember that there was a group of ASEL guns that entered the market around the same time. Another gun they stopped making in the early 1960s. 1982 - Beretta - Model 411E - 16ga, 2-3/4", 28-1/4" IM / F (.024/.035), Ejectors, Double Triggers - Front Articulated, Prince of Wales Grip, LOP 14-5/8", Drop 1-1/2" to 2-1/2", Slight Cast Off, Weight - 6 lbs. 10 oz.
