This gun is decorated by either the Haida or Tlingit in our estimation. According to the person we purchased this gun from, it came directly out of Alaska. The wood on this gun is fantastically decorated with a carved bird's head on the butt stock. The buttstock is elaborately carved and looks much like the carvings you see in a totem pole. The butt stock also has numerous abalone shell inlays. Attached is a primitive leather sling. Very fine original North West Indian decorated Winchester 1894! SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
