Description:
1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE, .25-20 CALIBER, #835XXX, MADE 1917. An attractive example that shows fine receiver blue that is evenly mixing with some plum and brown. Similarly, the barrel and mag tube show good blue that is also mixing plum and brown- mainly ahead of the forend. It retains the original carbine ladder rear sight with slide intact. All sharp and clear markings, saddle ring intact and has what appear to be correct factory sling-eye swivels- one in the butt stock and one correctly placed in the barrel band. The wood shows good wood to metal fit and has had stock finish added along with some wood fill in a few minor dings- this finish can easily be removed with #0000 steel wool or just left as is. Tight action, safety half-cock notch in the hammer holds and the bore is excellent. Nice 105 year old carbine.
