This unusual Walther Model 2 .22LR caliber rifle can be operated either as a bolt action or semiautomatic rifle. The 24.5"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The front sight is a blade mounted on a ramp. The rear sight is a standard German military style tangent leaf sight. The rifle is equipped with a quick detach Hensoldt OIGEE Berlin scope that is marked Vergr. 2 1/2X12.5 on the side of the turret and MADE IN GERMANY on the tube. The optics, with heavy cross and vertical post, are fine. The left side of the barrel has the German proof eagle followed by the crown over N proof followed by Nitro in sctipt. The right side has the crown over B, U, and G proofs and 5.4mm. The top rear of the receiver is marked Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis (Thur.) followed by the Walther banner logo. The serial number is marked on the trigger housing with the mathing number on 5h3 r4on5 4int. The gun has approx. 98% of its bright blue finish. The trigger has 90% of its case colors. The stock is excellent. It has checkering at the wrist, a fluted forearm, and a hard rubber Walther banner buttplate. The rifle has two sling swivels installed.
