Serial number 14976 Winchester- Hotchkiss 2nd Model 1879 carbine chambered in 45-70 with a 22.5"" barrel. Overall fair condition with metal being a brown patina finish. Wood shows usage and handling wear with cracks noted at the saddle ring. Bore shows pitting in the grooves. These were issued to the 4th Cavalry and are made from 1st model carbines. Action functions correctly.
