Description:
***SOLD*** Incredibley rare find! A New In Box Winchester Model 70 22 Hornet from 1947. S/N 74894 with matching scribed bolt. This amazing rifle still has the factory cosmoline coating on the inner workings. I pushed a worm of grease out of the bore for safety's sake, but it will definately need a thorough cleaning prior to use if so desired. Overall condition of the rifle remains at 99% with a few insignificant safe handling marks to the wood. The factory box comes complete with all of the original accompaniments including manuals, hang tags, instructions, etc. The original wax paper, partitions and wood end blocks are present as well. There have been amateur repairs made to both box ends. The end label is in decent condition and is legible. This rifle was made during what is referred to as the "transition" period between pre and post WWII configured rifles (from approximately 1946-1948). It has the Pre War clover leaf shaped receiver tang and the unique to this period "clam shell" safety lever. A very scarce rifle in and of itself, and practically nonexistent with its original factory box.
Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska to your FFL in 2 separate cartons for maximum protection will be an additional $130.
