Description:
LONDON RETAILER Marked REMINGTON Antique Vest Pocket .22 Cal. RF DERINGER

SCARCE 1 of 17,000 SAW HANDLE Deringers Made

Here we present an antique Remington Saw Handle Deringer (also known as the Vest Pocket Pistol), made from 1865-1888. This is an example of the .22 rimfire cartridge Vest Pocket. Invented by William H. Elliot, only about 17,000 of these guns were made in total over the 23 years production run. This single shot pistol is very simple in mechanics. Place the hammer in the most rearward position and load a cartridge. The hammer also acts as the loading gate and breach block.

This example has London proofs and is marked “Jas. KERR & Co./54 KING WILLIAM St. EC/LONDON.” on the right side of the frame.

The overall condition is good. Strong action. Good bore. The grips are in good shape, the right ide contains a thin crack. Legible and clear markings.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 3-1/4 inches.

Caliber: .22 Rimfire

Overall condition as seen in photos.
