.54 caliber Model 1842 percussion Navy pistol by Ames with a 6"" barrel in overall good condition. Also known as Navy Box lock. Metal is a light grey patina with pin-prick oxidation noted on the surface. Lock plate and barrel are dated 1844 with crisp marks visible. Wood is good with the name ""B FAUTH"" stamped on the left side. Excellent example of Box Lock!
