Description:
Serial #S972728, .38 Special, 6" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1945-made revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor, with the metal retaining 98-99% of the original blue finish, with some traces of mild silvering at the muzzle and other high edges, as well as along the ejector rod, and a mild turn-ring on the cylinder. The hammer and trigger retain about 90-92% of the original color case-hardening, with some gray along the bearing surfaces. The diamond-center grips are numbered to the gun and are in very good condition with some flattening of the points, as well as a crack on the inside upper corner of the grip strap as well as some impact blemishes at the butt (See Photos). Included is an original gold box with the proper end marking for this gun and no serial number. This is a splendid example of a scarce post-war M&P Pre-Model 10 revolver, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
