Description:
Serial #6656, .30-30 Win., 20 inch barrel with a very good bore with strong rifling and overall light pitting. This is a Marlin Model 93 Sporting Carbine marked model 93 on the tang making this a post 1905 rifle. Originally case-hardened the receiver retains much of a later added blue with some of the original color just visible. The barrel and magazine tube, similarly refinished have a mostly mottled blue to deep plum finish remaining with freckling and silvering along the high edges. The smooth straight grip walnut stock and forend are both solid showing numerous old bruises and handling marks under a later added linseed oil finish. The original Marlin hard rubber butt plate is present and in near excellent condition with light use marks. The rifle is sighted with standard folding rear and post front sights with a Lyman No.1 style flip up tang sight. The action functions smoothly. A great early 93 carbine. FFL or C&R
