Description:
***SOLD*** Beautiful example of a scarce caliber/configuration. Relatively few 220 Swift Target rifles were made during the transitional period between Pre and Post war Model 70s. (approx. 1946-1948). In fact, I can not recall ever seeing another quite like this one is with its outstanding original condition throughout. S/N 69 *** with matching scribed bolt made in 1947. It retains the Pre War style clover leaf receiver tang, along with the unique to this period "clam shell" or "rabbit's foot" safety lever. The condition is simply remarkable for a 75 year old rifle, showing 99% Blue and 98% Varnish with just a few scattered handling marks in the wood. The 26" Stainless steel barrel has a perfect appearing bore and throat and the mechanical functions are all excellent. The muzzle face has correctly been left "in the white". The factory installed sighting options are present, including original Winchester scope blocks as well as a minty Lyman 48 WH receiver sight and a front sight dovetail block for mounting an easily obtained Lyman globe type front sight if open sights are desired. Likely the best you will ever see offered in this style, and an excellent addition to any complete Model 70 collection.
Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska to your FFL in a custom cut foam lined box is an additional $75.
