Description:
Colt Single Action Army Revolver U.S. Marked. Serial number 112148 Made” 1887” Caliber .45, barrel Length 7-1/2 inches. Sold to the U.S. government March 8, 1887, number of guns in shipment 450. This fine historical Colt comes with two letters of Authentication. The first one was written by the Colt factory Historian, “M.S. Huber, Dated July 28, 1978. This is the original typed letter, not a copy. The second document is a two-page Letter of Authentication by “John A. Kopec dated April 9, 2022. This Silver Seal Letter of Authentication will also come with the purchase of this Colt. I have posted pictures of the supporting documents. Note this is an antique firearm and does not require an FFL unless your state of residence requires this gun to be sent to an FFL holder. 
 I have received several emails asking about the mechanical repairs needed to this SAA Colt. The #4 statement reads, “the revolver remains mechanically in need of repair”. The issue is with the hammer sear at the end of the trigger it is worn down. This is a frequent problem with the hammer on SAA Colts. You can send the gun or just the trigger to Mr. David A. Lanard recommended by Mr. Kopic, His business card is attached to the document. This SAA will cock and lock to full battery position. The hammer will fall when trigger is pulled. The Cylinder rotates and locks into fire position as it should
