PRICE LOWERED. A 1928 L.C. SMITH 12 ga Field Grade safe queen? So it appears. The “Elsie” was made and marketed by Hunter Arms Company as the working man’s working gun. It was the only commercially successful American-made sidelock double-barreled shotgun, being produced for nearly 40 years. Why this very high-condition gun s/n R112020 with 30" barrels was hardly used at all and was lovingly cared for, instead of being worked around the house or farm, and in the fields and marshes, is anyone’s guess. The L.C. Smith collector would be hard pressed to upgrade from this one to a better example of an inter-war period Field Grade gun; compare the photos, price and following details to other high-condition L.C. Smith Field Grade guns and decide for yourself.
