Description:
With a SN of serial #24518, in .28 cal., with a 3 1/2” octagon barrel with a lightly oxidized and pitted bore. This “Model 2 Root” revolver has been lightly cleaned in the past and has toned to mostly pewter with strong brown overtones showing a scattering of pitting, stains from oxidation and handling marks. The smooth one-piece walnut grips rate good to very good with slight shrinkage, handling marks and flaking or worn finish. . The mechanism works mechanically with good timing and lock up. The barrel and cylinder are numbered to the gun and the scene on the unfluted cylinder is softened from wear and oxidized pitting. The barrel has the Colt Hartford address with the pointing finger and three Maltese crosses. A nice little Second Model Root that has seen honest use.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
