Description:
PRICE LOWERED -- I'm selling my pair of U.S. Model 1860 Staff & Field Officer’s Swords, both with scabbards, both U.S. marked, both with rayskin or sharkskin grips in great shape.  These were hanging on the wall in the study at home rather than in the man cave, but The Mrs. politely asked me to take them down and I really don't have any good display place for them in the cave.  Both are in very nice condition.  One is faintly marked "THE M.C. LILLEY & CO. 13 W. 30th ST NEW YORK" on the ricasso, and the other is more clearly marked "AMES MFG CO CHICOPEE MASS."  My research indicates that The M.C. Lilley & Co. sword was made sometime from 1899-1906, as that's when the company used the New York sales address.  I believe the Ames sword was made during or sometime soon after The Civil War.  The etched engraving on the M.C. Lilley sword (other than at the ricasso) is mostly clear and sharp, while the engraving on the Ames sword is very faint.  On the M.C. Lilley sword, the spring-loaded button that retains the crossguard left side in either the open or folded position is missing.  See photos for more details.  PRICE REDUCED to $550 for the pair, shipped.  USPS Money Order, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal F&F all work.  Thanks for looking.
