It was conceived and executed by Master Engraver/Stockmaker Jesse Kaufman, formerly of Dakota Arms, currently designing and crafting custom firearms at his own shop. Kaufman’s one-of-a-kind opus is beautifully balanced, responsive, and functional with lines to match and extensive, stunning scroll engraving to embellish. Its quarter-sawn, XXX Claro walnut stock is complimented by 22-lines per inch checkering in a flowing pattern that echoes the form of the stock while enhancing the grain structure. The gleaming, hand-rubbed oil finish was applied slowly and meticulously over a two week period. Kaufman fitted the Remington 40X action with a 26-inch, medium weight, American-made K&P stainless steel barrel with 1:8 twist rifling and a muzzle threaded with pitch 5/8-24 for a suppressor. Long Rifle, Inc. blueprinted the action, lapping the locking lugs, and polishing the raceways. They pinned an oversized, .313 recoil lug to the action and fitted the true 40X stainless steel bolt with an AR-15-style extractor before jeweling it in a snakeskin pattern. The firing pin is activated by an adjustable Jewel trigger. Kaufman painstakingly pillar bedded the finished stock to his barreled action, but not until he’d perfected his steel canvas with his own pattern of deep relief engraving of receiver rings, tang, bolt shroud, top recoil lug, barrel breech, trigger bow, and floorplate. A mule deer buck sneaks through the leaves on the floorplate and an engraved banner flag waves 6.5 Creedmoor atop the barrel, a much classier chamber ID than the typical roll stamp. The unusual contrast in Kaufman’s engraving results from his museum quality shading accomplished by his own hot blueing selectively removed via tiny brushes and a mild acid, revealing the quiet French Gray luster beneath. A special inking and Renaissance wax finish completed the work. At the range this rifle proved perfect for feed, function and stellar, 1/2 MOA accuracy. This one-of-a-kind modern masterpiece reflects the passion, care, love and impeccable quality standards of Master gunbuilder Jesse Kaufman. GUN COLLECTIONS WANTED FOR CASH!
