****SOLD**** Here we have a Thompson Center Contender pistol chambered in .22 lr / .44 Remington Magnum. Warren Center, working in his basement shop in the 1960s, developed this unique, break-action, single-shot pistol. In 1965, Center joined the K.W. Thompson Tool Company and they introduced this design as the Thompson-Center Contender in 1967. Although they cost more than some hunting revolvers, the flexibility of being able to shoot multiple calibers by simply changing the barrel and sights and its higher accuracy made it popular with handgun hunters. This pistol comes with 2 barrels and the original wood hardware. The .22 long rifle barrel (pictured on the pistol) has a custom muzzle brake that is permantly attached. The .44 magnum barrel is unopened and unused and is T/C item #06124042. As it is currently configured the pistol has an SB Tactical brace installed. With a .22 long rifle and a .44 magnum barrel this would make a very versatile backwoods package. Both barrels measure 12" in length and have minty/new bores and have adjustable rear sights. This pistol would make an excellent addition to an existing collection or a great beginning for a new collection.
