We offer you an “AMN” Savage Model 99 – 99EG Lever Action Rifle in .300 Savage with Desirable Stith Scope Mount.
This Savage model 99EG is all original with the exception of the added sling swivels. It is an all numbers matching rifle and has the boss code of “C”. This tells us it was manufactured 71 years ago in 1951. The left side of the barrel is marked “.300 SAVAGE” and with the “SP” proof in an oval. The top of the barrel is marked ““SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION / UTICA, N.Y. -------- MADE IN U.S.A.”. The right side of the barrel is marked “HI-PRESSURE STEEL-PROOF TESTED” the bottom is marked with a “5”. The underside of the receiver is marked with the serial number “433845” and the lever boss is marked “C”. The butt plate, butt stock and forearm all have the matching number “433845” as shown. The top of the chamber ring is marked “SAVAGE / MODEL 99”. The front of the receiver is marked “E / G”.
The rifle wears a Stith Master Mount which was produced for a while in the 1950’s that uses the rear tang screws holes and rear barrel sight slot for mounting a scope. So the rear sight was removed for this mounting system but no other alterations were done to the gun. The mount is complete and holds a Weaver K2.5 scope from the same era and is in good shape but the crosshairs are a little wavy from age. It wears a 24 inch barrel that has fine bluing that shows some wear and marks but the bore is excellent. The receiver finish is in very fine condition as are the case colors on the lever as you can see.
Many of our estate firearms have been stored for some time and a thorough cleaning and inspection are recommended.
This will be shipped fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL for $65. This rifle will be shipped in a double walled foam lined cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe.
