These early production Spreewerks are not easy to find and this example is in the 91-92% condition range with a very clean bore- no pitting or dark spots. Production started at Spreewerk Werk Grottau in June 1942. This example, S/N 8698a was made approximately March 1943. Original finish and original paint in the "S" and "F". AEG grips 6 broken lines, Z3 38 in upper circle inside grip panel, P1528 or P1529 with mould number in lower circle. Grips are not chipped or cracked. As a note, the 5 broken line grips from Julius Posselt start to show up in the mid-a block cyq pistols. Pistol has the period correct and desirable e/88 spine maked magazine. The double action mode and hammer drop safety function perfectly. Rear sight blade is tight, front sight has the "long apron" milling around the barrel, this changes to a short milling pattern slightly later in production.
