This is a very rare and desirable Swiss Luger - one of the first orders for Lugers when they were introduced in 1900-01. RARE 3 digit serial. Early features include the unrelieved frame, which means there is no cut out for the magazine button to be inserted. This also means it has the early flat button on the proper Swiss magazine. This is a very rare feature and adds significantly to the price. The flat button magazine alone can sell in the $1000 range ! It has the early rust blue finish with strawed small parts with the exception of the fire blued pins and grip screws. The gun has all original and matching small parts including the original grips numbered to the gun. Other early features include the early safety lever, the grip safely, the dish toggle assembly, and the wide trigger guard. The bottom of the barrel has the correct "BUG" proof marks. The early Swiss 1900's come in 30 caliber Luger and with the 4 3/4 inch barrel. The bore is excellent. This gun is on consignment, so owner sets a price, but is a rare, and exceptional example of a very early Luger.
