Description:
"

.60 caliber 36"" octagonal to round barrel flintlock Chief's Grade flintlock musket by W. Jacot circa early 1800's. Metal is a dark brown patina with faint Crown/GR/ Broad Arrow noted. Oxidation is and surface corrosion is visible at the breech area, rifle appears to have been expertly converted back to flintlock. Wood shows mars and dings with old repairs noted, German silver Chief's Head motif is attached on the wrist. Action functions correctly. Jacot's first contract was in 1837 to the American Fur Company and it is to be noted that Jacot was more of a merchant than gunmaker, making this a rare gun!
