Winchester Model 1894 rifle in caliber 32 Winchester Special with 2 special order features - 26" part octagon barrel and full magazine (1/2 magazine was standard issue for part octagon rifles). Other features are standard - plain walnut stocks, plain trigger, crescent butt with rifle butt plate, blued and case hardened finish, open sights. Serial number 579416 was made in 1911.
CONDITION: Barrel 60% fine aged blue drifting to plum with 90% bright blue on the front underside that's protected by the mag tube. Mag tube is 90% bright original blue. Lyman patent front sight and the Winchester Smokeless rear sight specific to the 32 WS caliber are installed. Receiver, fore end cap, butt plate and lever have silvered out. Traces of original case colors remain on the lever and hammer. Stocks are sound, no splits or cracks, no extra holes, still tight and even with the metal, exhibiting typical light nicks and scratched from normal use. Action is crisp and has a properly working half cock safety. Strong bore with sharp rifling and is rated at an 8.5 of 10. Overall grades Very Good and will make a fine shooter, hunter and collector's rifle.
